Unsafe alternative

Deleting all data in a table using TRUNCATE is unsafe because it needs an ACCESS EXCLUSIVE lock:

TRUNCATE TABLE my_table

Also TRUNCATE is not MVCC-safe.

Safe alternative

Use DELETE to delete data from a table.
